The artwork, Sundash, is a one-off creation by acclaimed Surf Coast artist Rowena Martinich. Known for her vibrant abstract expressionist works, Martinich brings her signature fluoro-pop aesthetic to this board. Drawing inspiration from her Summer Electra series, she employed techniques such as pouring paint and sweeping large brushes across the sleek surface, resulting in bold, layered fields of blue accented with sandy sprays and flicks of vibrant colour. This dynamic composition captures the movement and energy of the ocean, evoking the sensation of gliding across water and the thrill of surfing.Martinich's practice spans public art, painting installations, and architectural applications, with her works featured in locations worldwide, including France, Italy, Turkey, China, the UK, and the USA.
